STEWARDSHIP 2027

“Thank You Notes: Behind every Gift is a Story of Generosity”

A POSTURE OF GRATITUDE

If you could thank one person who helped you find your way, who would it be? Maybe a grandparent who prayed with you at the kitchen table. A friend who believed in your gifts before you did. Or someone at work who taught you that a faithful shoemaker doesn't stamp little crosses on the shoes; he makes good shoes. Now, what if you wrote that person a note?

A couple of years ago, I wrote to a man who helped me find my path when I was young. He thanked me, and it brought us back in touch. A year later, he went home to be with the Lord. His brother found my note and read it aloud when the family gathered. It meant as much to them as it did to me.

Most of us have someone like that, and most of us have meant to say something. This Thanksgiving, as we consider our life together at FPC, think about who you may be called to thank. It doesn't have to be long. It just has to get sent.

Your friend and pastor,

Tim
