FPC Sisterhood

We believe that God created us to be in relationship with Him and others. Whether single, married, a mom or an empty-nester—we believe women need to share life and laughter as they grow in their faith.

Sisterhood happens when women from all generations connect to share life as they grow in their faith.

Our Women’s Groups

Women's ministry is a community of women who gather to fellowship, mentor, and connect in a safe, supportive environment. Our Women’s Ministry exists to support women of all ages and stages as they engage in discipleship and service. Current offerings include:

MomCo (formerly MOPS) | 2nd Tuesday each month | 9-11 AM | Student Ministry Building

  • The MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) chapter at First Presbyterian encourages and equips moms of young children to realize their potential as mothers, women and leaders, in relationship with Jesus, and in partnership with the local church. Our leadership team and Mentor Moms welcome women from throughout the community. Childcare is available. MOPS meets September - May.

Presbyterian Women | 2nd Monday each month | 12 PM | Edwards Building

  • A traditional monthly gathering of women in the church centered around fellowship, prayer concerns, a lesson series, compassion outreach, and participation in a variety of local mission projects. Members bring a sack lunch and share hostessing responsibilities. Meetings are held September - May.

WOW (Women of the Word)

  • Women of the Word is our weekly Bible study. Six - 12 week studies are held throughout the fall and spring.

  • WOW (Mornings) | Thursdays 9 AM | FPC Edwards Building

  • WOW (Afternoons) | Tuesdays 5:15 PM | Quinton Home (111 E. Club Drive, Thomasville, GA)

Spring Breakaway

2024 SISTERHOOD RETREAT

The FPC Sisterhood hosted its "Spring Breakaway" retreat from April 19-21, 2024, at Epworth by the Sea on St. Simons Island. Gathering 27 women ranging from 27 to 86 years young, the weekend was filled with community, worship, reflections on God's presence in their lives, and mutual learning. Activities ranged from icebreakers to fireside singing, fostering a wonderful environment for strengthening bonds within the group. Beth Filston, Heather Lindquist, and June Titus graciously shared their "Lessons Learned," showcasing how God has shaped their journeys. Ruth Ann Maxwell conducted a session on Healthy Living, while Christie Waller led discussions on Developing Godly Friendships, and Allyson Fralish facilitated a group focused on Walking with God amidst life's busyness. Fireside worship was led by Hannah (Lindquist) Knox. Lindsey Ramaekers led the group in some interactive icebreakers to help everyone get to know each other better. And we had a surprise musical mother/daughter duet performance by June Titus and Ellie Reinker.

We are so fortunate to have such incredible women in our church community!
